NEW BEGINNINGS FOR THE CRU IN 2017
In 2017, the Western Crusaders will be extending its footprint across the Gridiron Victoria Division II competition.
Due to the success of last year’s campaign, the club now focuses its efforts on the creation of a new team, CRU-TWO. The team will compete within Division II and be the 2nd club to enter an additional team with Gridiron Victoria.
Crusaders President, Peter Steve said “the club has seen a huge increase in interest within the sport, some stemming from the Flag Football competition it and Flag Football Victoria is conducting and the remaining, coming from people fed up with other sports that are simply too expensive to participate.”
Whilst some elements are still being worked on, the important part is that the our Club has the support and ability to deliver two outstanding programs, that win both Vic Bowl championships this year. We have a skills session on this Sunday from 10am following shortly after the Easter break, with a sign-up day with a BBQ and some fun.
We will be entering preseason soon so it is important that you prepare yourself in advance. These will be high tempo sessions that will challenge your fitness, we will not be “getting you fit” in preseason, the onus for that is on you. The intention is to “find the footballer in you” and allow us to put you in the most effective and advantageous position for you, and the Crusaders. Our expectations are high but no matter what your numbers are Football requires an inner-toughness that goes beyond pure athleticism, and during the above sessions is where you will need to show these qualities. If you have the passion for the game, these qualities will show through.
RESPECT THE TRAINING, HONOUR THE COMMITMENT, CHERISH THE RESULTS!
WE. ARE. ONE !
